Jolly Rancher is a brand of candy, including hard candy, gummies, fruit chews, jellybeans, lollipops, and sodas. It is currently owned by The Hershey Company. The product was originally produced by the Jolly Rancher Company, founded in 1949 by Bill and Dorothy Harmsen of Golden, Colorado. The Jolly Rancher Company made ice cream, chocolate and candy sold at several "Ranch Maid Ice Cream" stores in the Denver area. The name was meant to suggest western hospitality. Jolly Rancher candies come in many different flavors, including Blue Raspberry, Grape, Watermelon, Green Apple, and Cherry. Flavors also include Sour Green Apple, Sour Watermelon, Sour Cherry, Sour Blue Raspberry, Sour Wild Strawberry, Raspberry, Wild Strawberry, Mountain Berry, Strawberry-Watermelon, Raspberry Lemonade, Cherry-Orange, Grape-Green Apple, Blue Raspberry-Watermelon, Peach, Mixed Berry, Orange, and Cinnamon Fire. Cinnamon Fire is the only non-fruit based flavor of Jolly Rancher. Lemon was one of the original flavors, which has been discontinued and replaced by Blue Raspberry.
